Dr. Parmar is a Vascular Medicine specialist at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Program Director of the Vascular Medicine Fellowship. He also serves as Medical Director of VASCORE, the Vascular Imaging Core Laboratory, and Co-Medical Director of the Anticoagulation Management Service. He is an Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Parmar completed his Vascular Medicine Fellowship at MGH, holds a Master’s in Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is board certified in Vascular Medicine and a Fellow of both the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the Society for Vascular Medicine (SVM).
His research focuses on outcomes and disparities in cardiovascular disease. His recent scientific work include studies on high ankle-brachial index and mortality, the impact of statins in PAD patients undergoing revascularization, and the burden of polyvascular disease in chronic kidney disease. He also contributes to multicenter trials evaluating diagnostic strategies and therapeutic interventions through his work at VasCore.
Dr. Parmar is passionate about education and leads vascular medicine training and POCUS initiatives. He is a past chair of the Education Committee of the SVM. He regularly presents at national conferences and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and serves as a reviewer for several leading journals in cardiovascular medicine.
