Medical Officer IV
Philippine General Hospital, National Capital Region, Philippines
I am Dr. Bryan F. Elvambuena, an Adult Cardiology Fellow from University of the Philippines - Philippine General Hospital.
I completed my medical degree at the University of the City of Manila College of Medicine (Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila College of Medicine), followed by residency training in Internal Medicine at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH), the country’s premier tertiary referral center. In 2023, I served as Chief Resident of the Department of Medicine at PGH, overseeing clinical operations, mentoring junior residents, and coordinating academic programs.
I have contributed to some peer-reviewed studies addressing pressing healthcare issues in the Philippines. Notably, I did a study titled “Description of Post-discharge Outcomes of Patients with COVID-19 in a Tertiary Referral Center in the Philippines,” published in Acta Medica Philippina. This research provided valuable insights into the recovery trajectories of COVID-19 patients post-hospitalization. Additionally, I was involved in a rapid assessment study examining physicians’ adherence to local COVID-19 treatment guidelines in two tertiary public hospitals in Metro Manila. The findings highlighted areas for improvement in clinical practice during the pandemic.
I am currently a second year Adult Cardiology Fellow at the University of the Philippines - Philippine General Hospital and is very much interested to pursue Vascular Medicine.
